Governance Structure

The framework within the decision-making process.

The Council is the governing body of the Association. The composition of Council is as follows;

  1. The President
  2. Vice-President
  3. Immediate Past President
  4. Secretary
  5. Treasurer
  6. Seven Ordinary Members
  7. Retired Member

Council members are elected for a period of two years as a term and mandate renewable.

The GLA executives oversee the daily running of the Association work. They consist of the following;

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Treasurer
  4. Secretary
  5. Financial Secretary
  6. Assistant Secretary
  7. Public Relations Officer

There are various committees constituted by Council to help run the affairs of the Association. Some are;

  1. Registration Committee (Accreditation)
  2. Disciplinary Committee
  3. Education, Research and Training Committee
  4. Editorial Committee (Board)
  5. Anniversary Committee

The Council of the Ghana Library Association is the governing body of the Association. There are various committees constituted by Council to help run the affairs of the Association.
